On November 29, 2024, Shakhnozakhon Fakhriddinova, the leading lecturer at the Tourism and Hospitality School, organized a field visit for MDIST students as part of their Experiential, Special Interest & Heritage Tourism module. This visit aligned with the Week 10 curriculum, which focused on the Ethics of Dark and War Tourism.
The tourism students from MDIST embarked on an educational field trip to one of Tashkent's most iconic landmarks: Victory Park Memorial Complex and The Museum of Glory. This visit provided a break from traditional classroom learning and offered an opportunity to engage with the darker aspects of history related to the Second World War. The Victory Park Memorial Complex and The Museum of Glory serve as a tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the Uzbek people during World War II, presenting a unique blend of historical significance and serene natural beauty. As future tourism professionals, the students explored the park to gain insights into its importance as a cultural and historical destination for both locals and international visitors.
