The Spring Starts with One More High Score – 8.0 at Just 15 Years Old
Usually, when a candidate achieves a high score, we tend to tell a long story about how they accomplished it.
This time, however, the post will focus on the worst mistake made during IELTS preparation—so others can avoid it. Fayyozjon Ravshanov (a student of Kamrambek Isoev) shares his experience:
*“During my progress tests and regular pretesting sessions, I scored 7.5-8.5. Once, I decided to take a free MOCK test at a no-name place, thinking the standards would be the same. But I ended up scoring only 6.5 (probably because they underscore other students). I was really demotivated and didn’t know what to do.
Then, my teacher Kamrambek Isoev told me, ‘A MOCK test is like a diagnostic test—just like a blood test. It helps you understand your strengths and weaknesses.’ That’s why Innovative Centre purchases and receives materials either from IELTS Trial or Testbank, both from Cambridge English, the official author of the IELTS exam.
That makes it reliable—unlike the test I took in a random classroom with some kids, no trained invigilator, and a distorted audio recording. That setup gave me a misleading view of my performance.
The moment I sat for the real IELTS exam, I realized how right my mentor Kamrambek Isoev was. The IELTS MOCK test at Innovative Centre was 98% the same as the actual IELTS exam.
So, if someone asks me, ‘What should I do during my IELTS preparation?’ the obvious answer is: take MOCK tests—but only with professionals. Don’t fall for cheap ads like free MOCK tests—they will only hurt you.”*
