Some people think that online education is an excellent alternative to traditional classroom-based learning.
Do you agree with perspective?
There is a belief that classroom-based learning is not as effective as online education. I personally disagree with those who argue that this new alternative of giving classes is beneficial for students, as it has shown far worse results than the standard form of education.
Firstly, students who are taught online tend to be less motivated. When they do not feel the presence of other students nearby, they often lack the drive to excel in their studies. Conversely, a sense of competition can be observed in traditional lessons, which provides the impetus to study harder than others in the classroom. In addition, it is challenging to maintain discipline in students’ minds when teaching them online. As a result, many online students postpone their homework since they are not sufficiently encouraged to submit their assignments on time.
As for classroom-based learning, it has fewer flaws because its methodology has been refined over many centuries. The relationship between teachers and students has been thoroughly analyzed, and numerous investigations have been carried out to improve its effectiveness. Online education, on the other hand, has not been adequately researched, and teachers are not fully aware of how to conduct classes properly via the internet. Finally, the standard form of education leaves little room for cheating, as students are constantly monitored by teachers. Therefore, plagiarism from books or websites is highly unlikely to occur, unlike in online education. This leads to a fair assessment of students' knowledge and helps teachers identify which weaknesses to address next.
To conclude, online education is a new phenomenon that has not been studied extensively. Consequently, students often lack motivation to study and fail to complete their homework on time. A better approach to education, from my point of view, is to conduct lessons traditionally in the classroom, as this results in more professional teaching and fewer occurrences of cheating by students.
