Describe something you bought but returned in the end.
One day, I wanted to buy a practical gift for my friend, so I set out to get him some sports clothes that he could wear every day. Finding the right style that matched his taste was already tricky, but figuring out the correct size was even harder. We looked around different stores, asked men of a similar build to try it on, and even called up his friends to check his size. After a long back-and-forth with the seller, we finally made up our minds and went ahead with the purchase. I was so excited that I couldn’t wait to hand over the gift.
However, when I gave it to my friend, he didn’t light up as I had expected. At first, I brushed it off, thinking he was just surprised, but after I pressed him a little, he finally opened up and admitted that the clothes were too big.
Since the seller had pointed out earlier that we could bring them back, I decided to return the clothes. I went back to the store, explained the situation, and the staff gladly took them in. Instead of picking out another set of clothes, I thought it would be safer to go for shoes, as they are easier to size correctly. This time, my friend was over the moon with the gift.
Looking back, I learned a valuable lesson—when buying clothes for someone else, always double-check their size to avoid going through the hassle of returning them!
