🇰🇬🇨🇳Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov went on a state visit to China from February 4-7, 2025 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The visit is aimed at strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership established between Kyrgyzstan and China, with a focus on economic, trade and cultural cooperation.
President Zhaparov arrived in Beijing on February 4, 2025. He was welcomed with traditional honors at Shoudou International Airport by Chinese officials, including Minister of Housing, Urban and Rural Development Ni Hong.
Today, February 5, Sadyr Zhaparov is holding talks with Chairman Xi in Beijing. They will discuss deepening strategic partnership, regional stability and global issues of mutual interest.
Meetings with Premier Li Qiang of the State Council and Chairman of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji have already been finalized to discuss legislative, economic and governmental cooperation.
The Kyrgyz President will also attend the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin.
Following the Kyrgyz President's visit, several agreements are expected to be signed to strengthen economic ties, including in sectors such as agriculture, industry and digital technology.
Further infrastructure projects are expected to be discussed following the success of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad project.
Agreements are likely to be signed to strengthen cultural and educational cooperation to promote mutual understanding.
🇨🇳As China will host the SCO summit in 2025, this visit also aims to harmonize strategies for the upcoming event, focusing on regional security and economic integration.
