Some people think that the teenage years are the happiest times of most people’s lives. Others think that adult life brings more happiness, in spite of greater responsibilities.

Each stage of life presents a set of unique challenges and benefits. While teenage years are sometimes considered the happiest phase of life, adulthood can also be deeply fulfilling. Personally, I support the former view as people generally have fewer commitments and duties in their earlier years.
Undoubtedly, adulthood can be very rewarding. For one thing, intimate relationships with their spouses can give people huge emotional support, especially during difficult times. Most families stand together against challenges and try to comfort their significant other in times of hardship. Moreover, having children and spending time together can be very satisfying. Since most people view raising children as one of the major achievements in life, simply playing games with them or helping with their studies adds meaning to most adults’ lives. Clearly, adults may enjoy an emotionally rewarding and meaningful life.
Nevertheless, teenagers have far happier life than adults. Unlike adults, who are normally under enormous pressure, teenagers are mostly free of major commitments. While adults’ work-related duties and responsibilities in the family occupy their days, studies are the only responsibility for most teenagers. This is because they usually do not have to work to meet their needs thanks to the financial support they receive from their parents and family. This leaves much room for their leisure. They can socialize with friends or spend time on their favorite activities. Therefore, the teenage years can be considered the most carefree phase of life.
In conclusion, although adult life can bring much joy and satisfaction to a person, the responsibilities it involves make life highly stressful and busy. In contrast, teenagers enjoy a much happier life with little responsibility and much time for recreation.
