Part 1: The chart below gives the number of people employed in five types of work in a certain region in Australia in 2001 and 2008.
The bar chart compares the number of employees in five types of jobs in a particular region of Australia in 2001 and 2008.
Overall, sales hired the highest number of workers, whereas the reverse was true of farming. More people secured employment in sales, computing, and nursing in 2008 than in 2001, whereas the remaining two areas of work saw reductions of similar absolute sizes, though farming's drop represented a considerably larger proportional fall.
Regarding the occupations with an increasing trend, sales recorded slightly more than 150,000 employees, a figure that grew further to around 170,000, by far the largest figure in the chart. Computing and nursing followed distantly behind, with identical worker counts at 50,000 in 2001. However, the former provided more jobs in 2008, approximately 65,000, exceeding the latter which remained a smidge below the 60-thousand mark.
As for the remaining jobs, accounting witnessed a minimal decline from 60,000 to about 58,000 employees. Farming, on the other hand, was the least popular sector, hiring only 21,000, which also decreased to 19,000.
