English version
In the outskirts of the city, there lived a poor man named Akmal. He worked in a small shop, but his salary was barely enough to survive. Every day, he returned home exhausted, complaining about his life:
— "Why is my life so difficult? Why do some people have everything so easily? If I were rich, I would surely be happy..."
One evening, as Akmal was walking home from work, he saw a disabled man on the street. The man had no arms, yet he was happily selling books with a bright smile on his face. Surprised, Akmal approached him and asked:
— "How can you smile and live happily despite such a difficult life?"
The disabled man smiled and replied:
— "Because I am grateful for what I have. If I compare myself to you, I would envy you. You have two hands, you can walk easily, and you can do any job you want. Would you want to trade places with me?"
Akmal was speechless. For the first time, he looked at his life from a different perspective. From that day on, instead of complaining, he started appreciating what he had.
Moral of the story:
Many people complain about their lives, but in reality, they may already be living the life that others dream of. Gratitude is the key to true happiness.
