𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐎 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭:
As the people of Kenya, we firmly reject the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report, which was adopted by the National Assembly. This report does not address the real issues affecting Kenyans but is instead a political strategy to benefit a few at the expense of the nation.
Key Reasons for Rejection
1. 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - The proposed reconstitution of the IEBC selection panel lacks independence and risks influencing the 2027 elections unfairly. The 2022 Presidential Election audit is a diversion from pressing national issues.
2. 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 - While Kenyans suffer from high food prices, fuel costs, and unemployment, the report prioritizes political power-sharing instead of economic relief.
3. 𝐔𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 - The Leader of the Official Opposition and Prime Minister positions serve political interests rather than governance needs, adding a burden on taxpayers.
4. 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 - Proposals to regulate political parties risk suppressing opposition and limiting political freedom, undermining democracy.
5. 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 - The push to constitutionalize funds like NG-CDF and Affirmative Action Fund ignores their history of corruption and mismanagement instead of ensuring transparency and accountability.
𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬:
We call for,
1️⃣Immediate withdrawal of the NADCO report.
2️⃣Protection of democracy by rejecting unconstitutional power-sharing deals like those fronted by
@RailaOdinga .
3️⃣Transparent electoral reforms free from political interference by a Caretaker Government.
4️⃣Strong accountability measures for public funds.
5️⃣The exit of the current government either through resignation, impeachment or mass action.
𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧
The NADCO report is a betrayal of the people, prioritizing political interests over national progress. I urge all Kenyans to reject it and demand leadership that truly serves the nation. Let us stand together to protect democracy, fairness, and economic justice for all.
Best Regards
Francis Gaitho.
