After a long and exhausting day, I decided to leave my thoughts here. I have noticed that today’s students, even those from previous years, have become much more distracted and lazy compared to before.
This has made us teachers feel miserable, dissatisfied, and disappointed because we no longer see real progress or growing students. It makes us start questioning ourselves: “Are we not doing a good job?”
I know this is not just something I feel. Many other teachers, especially those teaching General English, have noticed the same. Maybe I have only started realizing it this year because I returned to teaching General English classes. Or maybe this problem has existed for a long time and is still ongoing.
Dear current and future students, please don’t make us feel this way. Come to class with a clear purpose and motivation, and don’t waste your time. Make your learning journey meaningful!
