Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Opinions are divided as to whether negative experiences in one’s life had better be accepted or amended. Although the former approach may put people’s mind at ease for a short period, exempting them from unnecessary stress, I consider one needs to put in tireless effort for the betterment of their lives.
Those who are in favor of accepting unsatisfactory situations point to the fact that those trying to make changes to their lives might end up experiencing heightened stress levels. That is, one needs to alter their routines, leaving their comfort zones so as to make amendments to the adversity they are going through. For example, if one wants to have a career change, they need to put in extra hours and effort to acquire new skills to be able to secure a job in another domain. A doctor aspiring to teach students at a university, for instance, should undergo necessary teacher training even if their subject of delivery is medicine. This decision of people decidedly makes them work unsocial hours and wallow in disappointment in case of failures, aggravating their well-being further through exposing them to unnecessary and excessive stress and anxiety.
Nevertheless, there are still others claiming that it is best to try and persist for the sake of admirable changes. They consider the outcome of their efforts to be worth challenging themselves. Once a person makes the cut to change their lives for the better, they are bound to savor more pleasures. Not only does this positive change allow for more life satisfaction, but one’s loved ones stand to benefit from this. This is because those with job dissatisfaction often carry over the negativity at workplace to their households, unnecessarily affecting mental well-being of their family members. On top of this, however painstaking the attempts to make changes may seem, they serve to shape individuals, making them more ambitious, determined and persistent.
To conclude, having considered both viewpoints, I lean towards those who advocate for positive amendments in one’s life. Despite the short-term difficulty of trying to avoid negative experiences, the long-term benefits promise to be overwhelmingly significant.
