Task 2:
Caring for children is probably the most important job in any society. Because of this, all mothers and fathers should be required to take a course that prepares them to be good parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?
Child care is of paramount importance in many communities these days. It is therefore argued that both fathers and mothers ought to sign up for special training courses to be ideal parents. While I admit the significance of attending parental courses, I have some valid reasons to believe that it is nothing more than a waste of funds and valuable time.
Admittedly, it can be good to some extent if parents enroll in special courses which prepare them to be perfect folks. This is because parental supervision and guidance play an essential part in fostering good behavioral patterns in children. To achieve this, both parents should possess certain qualities – responsibility, kindness and honesty, to name but a few, which can be acquired with the help of specialists who run special parenthood preparation programs. Parents having those characteristics in their hands, they can be confident in their abilities to rear their children properly. As the saying goes: ‘’they reap what they sow’’.
Nevertheless, I still share the view that taking parenting training courses is not good use of one’s time and money. As an illustration, many people go for parenting classes to gain some hands-on experiences or approaches, but they often fail to realize how much time and money they end up spending on these unnecessary programs. Thus, one should bear in mind that youth parents can learn key skills from their own parents, recalling how they were treated and brought up in the past. Having remembered that, young caregivers can apply the same techniques to their children too.
To sum up, even though I accept the importance of taking up parental educational courses, I am still of the opinion that these child-rearing programs are a waste of parent’s time and budget.
