Two decades down, more to go!
Even though I technically became an adult at 18 years old, at that time I haven’t felt the set of items like independence and stress that are often attributed to adults. But I feel like things will change soon.
On the one hand, I will no longer be a teenager and it’s scary, but on the other hand, I am finally going to be in my 20s and it's looking quite promising.
But what’s happening now is that life is becoming blurrier and blurrier. Over time, it got to the point where I taught myself not to overthink in moments of uncertainty and to simply credit everything to the new stage of life that I am entering. And this feels relieving.
Also, I am coming to the conclusion that our 20s will be more about us and our own decisions than about our parents and their decisions, who have already nurtured us for about two decades. Interestingly enough, even in the iconic film “In Time”, people’s time starts ticking specifically starting from their 20s, and afterwards, they must buy time themselves to live. I love this analogy of life.
Alright, buckle up! We are about to take on the world as full-fledged adults.
P.S. It’s not a birthday post; it's just a reflection on my last months of teenage life.
