It always takes longer and costs more than you think it will.
If you
were to search for the most popular IELTS channels on Telegram, Diyorbek’s IELTS always comes up in the top 5, with each post getting nearly 30k views. Of course, the content on his channel is quite good (it used to be much better, NGL), but that’s not why this channel is so popular.
Perhaps the main “secret” behind the success of Diyorbek’s IELTS is time. My G has been running his channel – on and off – since May 30, 2019 (I just looked it up). In other words, for about half a decade.
Similarly, one of the biggest learning centers in my hometown, English Life, has been around for over a decade. Back in 2014 when I just started learning English, it used to be a somewhat tiny center with just one branch. Now it’s a massive chain with loads of branches and a private school.
Hard work, innovation, and quality of the product all matter, no doubt about that. But in the words of Warren Buffet, "No matter how great the talent or effort, some things just take time: you can't produce a baby in one month by getting nine women pregnant."
If your channel isn’t growing, keep at it. If your English isn’t improving, keep at it. If your business isn’t taking off, keep at it.
Great things take time.
