The illustration outlines the stages involved in the linear process, showing how plastic bottles are recycled.
Evidently, used bottles go through 9 different steps to become a new product, starting with bottle collecting and ending with manufacturing ready goods.
Initially, people throw used bottles and a special truck collects them to send to a recycling center. In this stage, the bottles are sorted by hand into usable and non-usable ones. Those in a good state are then compressed into blocks, after which they are crushed using big rollers. The ground pieces of plastic are washed afterwards so that they become clean enough to undergo a further manufacturing process to produce raw material.
Subsequently, the washed plastic debris is sent to a special tool which is responsible for turning it into pellets. The next phase is to heat these pellets to form raw material which is then processed into new products ranging from bottles to clothes to pencils
