About me 🥸

My name is Shermuhammad and I am 29 years old. I am an IELTS teacher based in Andijan. I spend most of my time teaching offline lessons ( teaching 9 IELTS groups currently ). 🤗

Whenever I have free time, I try to post useful, most importantly meaningful content like vocabulary help, articles, books, practice materials, videos to watch, speaking samples and writing samples. I have opened few free and paid online courses so far. 😎

I have taken the IELTS test multiple times and managed to score 7.5, 8.0 (×5) and 8.5 (×3). To flatter myself, I can say that my scores in 4 sections are as follows;
L: 9.0 R: 9.0 Wr: 7.5 (×3) Sp: 9.0(×2) 🫠

And I am after this band 9.0 🍸 certificate, as sometimes I feel like I have a chip on my shoulder although I take more pride in my students' results rather than my own score.(world of results). I want to be known as a good teacher and be defined by my students' success 🙏. I hope that you guys will be here when I finally get band 9.0 (sooner than later).

My hobbies are: Football, Western Politics, UFC and Listening to rap music. 🙂

I think this is basically everything you ought to know about me.

But, if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments!🙂

BAND 8.0 SAMPLE

It is undeniable that educating children properly is of great importance. However, they are believed to learn more efficiently from playing independently compared to attending extra-curricular activities after school. Despite the fact that playing freely is also effective since it is done voluntarily, I tend to disagree more with this statement, because courses designed and planned by professional adults have clear goals.

It has been suggested that the reason why approach to learning is an efficient one boils down to the fact that children commit themselves to games they want to explore out of their free will, meaning no one has to force them into doing something for an extended period of time. Provided that they are content with how they spend their time, they will be more open to learning , exploring new things and even putting themselves at risky situations , as they are really interested in, ergo invested in the process of their learning experience. Case in point, allowing children to choose what to do in their free time leads them to spend more time outdoors, make new friends, learn new games and become competitive because of unintentional pressure from their peers.

On the flip side, many others have claimed that it is surely a better decision to leave the academic and mental progress of the young generation in the hands of trained and qualified professionals. It is not a secret that kids like playing , but they do not know what is useful , let alone best for them , which is why it is vitally important for them to adults who have created step-by-step projects or lesson plans with a sole purpose , that is to ensure children are taught effectively in a certain amount of time rather than wasting their childhood and lack behind that other kids who are more talented or academically inclined which is a good opposition to put forward and reject the idea that kids are better off on their own.

It is said that playing freely lets children learn more so than they would if they were enrolled in after school activities by their school. It can be concluded that I disagree more with this notion due to there is more supervision in organized activities.

Children learn more from playing freely after school than doing more organized after school activities.

To what extent do you agree or disagree? ⬇️

Task 2 - Double Question 8️⃣.0️⃣

It is undeniable that the internet has made it possible to learn about other cultures. As a result, in some places wearing western clothes is becoming more common compared to their own conventional ones. While the rise of social media might be the primary contributor, this is indeed a negative trend, as it leads to the loss of national identity.

It has been suggested that this trend can be linked with how influential social media platforms have become. In other words, the majority of popular social media icons and celebrities are from the west and they are often known to set trends, meaning what they say, or wear is almost always going to be copied and/or imitated, as the ordinary folks, who follow them from other parts of the world truly believe that what they do is cool. Case in point, many people online look up to the likes of Kim Kardashian, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber and Tom Holland, to name, but a few and their clothing styles have a big impact all around the world because of their charm and global appeal.

On the flip side, many others have claimed that this is a change for the worse due to its adverse effect on people's national or cultural identity. It is common knowledge that adopting western way of choosing what to wear does not end there, as those who replace their traditional attires with skinny jeans, mini-skirts or leather jackets will further be tempted to make more changes in their lives, which can be exemplified by cases in Asian countries, like China, India and even Uzbekistan, where not only old and conventional clothes are considered to be a thing of the past, but also those who wear them are looked at as if they are from the stone age and it is a clear sign of abandoning one's own culture

It is said that western clothes are worn more and more in some countries. Whereas social media is believed to be the reason behind this shift, I think this is a negative, negative development as far as people's traditional values are concerned.

In many countries, people now wear western clothes rather than traditional clothing.

Why is this the case?

Is this a positive or negative development?

Here are three common English idioms for you to learn!

1. "Break the ice" – To start a conversation in a social setting or make people feel more comfortable.
Example: "He told a funny story to break the ice at the meeting."

2. "Burn the midnight oil" – To work late into the night.
Example: "I had to burn the midnight oil to finish the project on time."

3. "Hit the nail on the head" – To describe something accurately or do something perfectly.
Example: "When she said we needed better communication, she really hit the nail on the head."
