Storily’s first sessions! 💌

📚 We’ve officially kicked off our 4th cohort, and it’s already feeling like something special. During our first WPD session, everyone got to introduce themselves, and the stories shared were so inspiring—we’re building a warm, close-knit community 💔

🤍The highlight so far? Our interview with Alloma, a freshman at Brown University where she's exploring the fields of Political science, Economics and Gender studies. She was also awarded a full-ride scholarship of over $97k per year!

In her own words, passions like listening to Taylor Swift and engaging in MUNs may have been crucial parts of her narrative, helping her connect her experiences into a compelling application that stood out🩷

Overall, the session was packed with valuable advice and fresh perspectives, and everyone left with plenty to think about. Don’t worry if you missed it—we recorded it and will share it with anyone who needs it and comments below ⬇️

It’s been an exciting start, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. Stay tuned for more! ❤️

Currently, I am reading the responses of our applicants for the Storily cohort 4 and getting sincerily reminded why we started the project...
These are so sincere and that's only a few))

The question was "what makes you feel proud of yourself?"

Thank you for this question. I had never talked or thought about this question before and I never had written about myself this much. But, I want to deeply thank you for adding this question, I feel so motivated after answering this. ✨🥺

I recently wrote a research paper about "Child and Forced Marriages in Afghanistan" where I held interviews with the victims of Child and forced marriage not only from Afghanistan but also Iran and Pakistan.

Studyng in this satuation, that even we girls are interdicted by Taliban.

I have an ability to create a fantastic characters and stories for children.

I feel proud of myself for being a female and an educated girl, deeply aware of my own history and fueled by my passion for learning and growth.

That I have kindness in me.

Dear diary, ✉️

Today I want to tell you and all the newcomers of the channel about the project that has my heart in it. It was a winter of 2023, and I recently had a surgery. Lying in the bed of the hospital, I was discussing the first seeds of this project with Istoda. It’s such a core memory now! We called it Storily for a reason and put all our aspirations and long term visions into it! ✨

Storily is a place where we gather passionate women of the region to develop creative writing, critical thinking, collaboration, and project development skills through online lessons. 🌹 Sounds very technical, huh? And online lessons? Is it the best place to connect? And for what?

We conduct this intensive cohort, so that our girls can share their ideas, can raise the societal and global issues they are concerned about, and can tell their stories! 🪶

Be it a story about how you are continuing your education during the Taliban regime, or a glow-up story during your high school, or how you solved the problem in your mahalla — it deserves to get told. The way you want it to get told.

But Storily is also about the energy and knowledge and experience we share in a warm and safe way. It’s the place where you can support another and get inspired by one. 🤍

We went through a lot as a team, and I am sure that Storily’s story isn’t near its end! :)

With lots of hope and love,
Laziza and the team ❤️

Hey guys!

We’re looking for volunteer-based social media interns at @storily5, a non-profit organization. Though our co-founders - Istoda, Laziza, Aydariya, Asal - have been busy pursuing studies and careers across the US, UK, and UAE, we’re still going strong — with plans to grow and refine our concept and vision!

Who Can Apply?
Anyone, from anywhere — regardless of age or gender.

What We’re Looking For:
🪽 Solid English skills (C1 level or higher)
🪽 An eye for good design
🪽 5-6 hours per week commitment

Your Role:
🌱 Plan content for Telegram, Instagram, and LinkedIn
🌱 Recruit and manage a creative team (designers, copywriters, reel creators)

Perks:
🌾 Real experience to boost your uni, job, or program applications
🌾 Access to a cool international network
🌾 Possible funding opportunities if our NGO gets funded
🌾 Funded team-building events at least twice a year — for now, we did Tashkent cafés and Samarkand trips

How to Apply:
Fill out this form by October 21 (the sooner, the better!).

By October 25th, you will receive invitations to interviews. And those who get selected after the interview will have a 2-week trial period in the position, to see how the intern/s perform their responsibilities

Got questions? DM @aydariya!
