I have been lately caught between running my new channel and turning my teaching center into a full-fledged systemized business. Things have been rather rough. Therefore, I have been rather inactive on this channel.

But I will continue bringing quality posts to you guys!

This passing week has been hectic!
Here is some of what I have been up to:

🟢Delivered 42 hours of offline lessons
🟢Organized 3 online lessons
🟢Prepared 18 speaking samples
🟢Put together 3 books
🟢Had one business meeting
🟢Prepped close to 100 posts for this channel (each one taking 5-30 minutes)
🟢Listened to 2 hours and 40 minutes of audiobooks

How has your week been so far?

I honestly believe Aliakbar deserved a lot higher band score! But 7.0 is still a good enough achievement in his first attempt!

The Forgetting Curve

Research by Hermann Ebbinghaus, a German psychologist, introduced the concept of the "forgetting curve." It shows that we forget information at an exponential rate if we don't actively reinforce our learning. Without revision, we can forget up to 50% of new information within an hour and about 70% within 24 hours. This emphasizes the importance of regular review and reinforcement in learning.

I know of a lot of IELTS advanced beginners who has gotten pretty good at dealing with True/False/Not Given type of questions ONLY. Or essay introductions

How many advanced beginners of English do we have here?

Mashkhura has been one of the most diligent and conscientious students I have ever had, and her progress speaks to that!

English is a difficult language. It can be understood through tough thorough thought, though.

Studying the grammar is not important for the process of language acquisition. But it is VITAL for the language learning process.

I feel sorry for the students of some teaching centers that fail to differentiate language acquisition from language learning, and try to shove down the throat of their students the theory that grammar is a waste of time.

I think you don't need a lot of common sense to understand why and how grammar is important. A tiny bit of it would do the trick.

I have started sharing band 8.5-9.0 sample answers on my new channel. Join to access them fresh out of the oven.

SPEAKING with MARDON

Are you working hard for your dreams, or hardly working?

A question you can all ask yourselves before calling it a day:

What have I learned today?

Personally, if IELTS or other standardized test never existed, there would be a lot fewer confused English learners who are graduating from IELTS groups with an elementary command of grammar

The results are telling ( and crazy) !
