Describe an energetic person you know

One of the most energetic and lively people I know is my friend Tom. He is the kind of person who is always on the move, full of enthusiasm, and never seems to run out of energy. No matter what time of day it is, he is always active, cheerful, and ready to do something fun.
What makes Tom so energetic is his positive attitude and his love for adventure. He enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and playing sports. I remember one time when we went on a trip, and while everyone else was exhausted after a long day, Tom was still jumping around, cracking jokes, and suggesting new things to do. It’s almost as if he never gets tired!
Another thing I admire about him is that he spreads his energy to others. Whenever people feel down or unmotivated, Tom has a way of lifting everyone’s spirits. He always has a funny story to tell or a crazy idea to make things more exciting. Even in serious situations, he manages to stay optimistic and enthusiastic, which makes him a great person to be around.
I sometimes wonder how he manages to be so energetic all the time, but I think it’s because he takes care of himself—he eats well, exercises regularly, and always finds reasons to be happy. Being around Tom has taught me that having a lot of energy isn’t just about being physically active—it’s also about having a positive mindset and enjoying life to the fullest.

Describe your grandparent’s job

My grandfather was a gardener, and his job was something he truly loved. He spent most of his life working in parks, gardens, and greenhouses, taking care of plants, trees, and flowers. I always admired his passion for nature and how much patience he had when it came to growing and maintaining beautiful landscapes.
His daily routine involved planting new flowers, trimming bushes, watering plants, and making sure everything looked neat and healthy. He had a deep knowledge of different plants—he knew which ones needed more sunlight, which required extra care, and how to keep them from drying out. Whenever I visited him, he would show me how to take care of a garden properly, and I learned a lot about plants and their needs from him.
What I found most interesting was how much hard work and dedication the job required. It wasn’t just about planting flowers—it was about understanding nature, dealing with unpredictable weather, and solving problems like pests or plant diseases. But despite the challenges, my grandfather always enjoyed what he did. He used to say that gardening wasn’t just a job; it was a way of life.
Even though he has retired now, he still takes care of his own little garden at home. Every time I see him working with plants, I realize how much joy and fulfillment his job brought him. His love for gardening has even inspired me to appreciate nature more and understand the importance of patience and care.

Describe an area of science that interests you

One area of science that has always fascinated me is psychology, especially the way it explains human behavior and decision-making. I find it incredible how our thoughts, emotions, and experiences shape the way we interact with the world. But what really grabs my attention is the concept of manipulation—how people can subtly influence others without them even realizing it.
For example, in social psychology, there are techniques like persuasion, priming, and subconscious influence, which are used in everything from advertising to politics. Marketers use psychological tricks to make us buy products, while leaders use rhetoric and body language to gain trust. Even in everyday life, people unknowingly use these tactics to convince others or get what they want.
What’s even more interesting is that manipulation isn’t always negative. It can be used for positive purposes, like motivating someone, boosting confidence, or helping people change bad habits. Understanding how the mind works allows us to become more aware of these influences and even protect ourselves from being easily manipulated.
Psychology is such a deep and thought-provoking field, and I feel like there’s always more to learn. It’s amazing how much power our minds have, and studying this subject helps us better understand both ourselves and others. That’s why I find it so exciting and relevant to everyday life.

Describe an occasion when the vehicle you took broke down during your travel.

Two years ago, at the beginning of September, I experienced a rather unexpected situation during a trip. We were traveling to Samarkand, one of the most famous cities in Uzbekistan, to visit its ancient monuments like Registan and Shahi Zinda, which I had always dreamed of seeing. The weather was perfect for traveling—cool and crisp, typical of early autumn.
Everything was going smoothly until we were about halfway through our journey. All of a sudden, we started experiencing vehicle trouble. At first, it seemed like a minor issue, but then we realized that one of the tyres was badly damaged and had to be replaced immediately. Unfortunately, the whole process took nearly two hours to fix. It was quite frustrating, especially because we were eager to reach Samarkand and start exploring its incredible landmarks.
However, what made this experience stand out was the beautiful surroundings where we ended up stopping. Nearby, there was a stunning lake with a breathtaking view. The water was so clear that it reflected the sky like a mirror, and the surrounding hills were covered in vibrant autumn colors. It was such a peaceful and serene spot that it almost made us forget about the delay. While waiting, we took the opportunity to relax by the lake, take some photos, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
Looking back, even though the breakdown was inconvenient, it turned into a special part of our trip. It taught me that sometimes, unexpected delays can lead to surprising and memorable moments. In a way, this incident added an unexpected twist to our journey and made it even more unforgettable.

Describe a place in the village you visited

Last year, I visited a small village where I came across a huge, breathtaking garden. It was the heart of the village, where locals gathered to relax, take walks, and enjoy the fresh air. The moment I stepped in, I was amazed by the vibrant flowers, towering trees, and perfectly trimmed bushes. It felt like a scene from a fairy tale.
One thing that stood out was the size of the garden—it was surprisingly large and spacious, almost like a miniature botanical park. There were stone pathways winding through the greenery, and along the way, I saw wooden benches where people sat, chatting or simply admiring the view. In the center of the garden, there was a small pond with crystal-clear water, surrounded by willow trees that provided shade.
The air was filled with the fragrance of fresh flowers, and the sound of birds chirping made the place even more peaceful. Some villagers were tending to the plants, making sure everything looked perfect. They took great pride in keeping the garden clean and beautiful, which made me appreciate the strong sense of community and harmony in the village.
Spending time in that garden was incredibly refreshing, and I could feel all my stress melting away. It was the perfect place to connect with nature and enjoy some quiet, peaceful moments away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I’d love to visit it again and spend more time soaking in its beauty.

Describe a positive change that you have made recently in your daily routine.

As a student, my daily routine used to be quite chaotic, especially because I always had a lot of assignments and was often snowed under with homework. More often than not, I had to stay up late to get everything done, and over time, I got accustomed to staying up until 1 or even 2 a.m. Unfortunately, I also developed a habit of scrolling through social media, especially late at night, which made it nearly impossible for me to get enough sleep.
At one point, I realized I couldn’t keep living this way. I was constantly exhausted and struggling to focus during the day. So, I decided to make a big change—I did a social media detox and set a rule for myself to go to bed no later than 11 p.m. At first, it wasn’t easy to adjust because my body was used to late nights, but I forced myself to stick to the new routine.
Now, I go to bed early and wake up early, and I feel much more energized and productive. This change has had such a positive impact on my life. I’m able to finish my tasks more efficiently and even have extra time in the mornings to plan my day or do something relaxing. As Franklin once said, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.” I truly believe this now because I’ve seen how much better I feel, both physically and mentally.
Looking back, this was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s amazing how such a simple adjustment—going to bed earlier and cutting back on social media—can lead to such a significant improvement in my daily life.

Describe something you bought but returned in the end

A few months ago, I ordered an aquarium from Temu because I wanted to add some life to my room with a small fish tank. The pictures on the website made it look spacious and stylish, and the price was quite reasonable, so I decided to go for it.
However, when the package arrived, I was completely disappointed. The aquarium was way smaller than it looked in the photos, and it could barely fit more than a few tiny fish. The material also felt cheap and flimsy, nothing like what I had expected. I realized that I had fallen for misleading product photos, which was frustrating.
At first, I thought about keeping it, but then I figured there was no point in holding on to something that didn’t meet my expectations. So, I initiated a return request, packed it up, and sent it back. Fortunately, the refund process was smooth, and I got my money back without any issues.
Since then, I’ve become much more cautious when shopping online. I always check the exact dimensions of a product and read customer reviews before making a purchase. This experience taught me to be more careful and patient when buying things online instead of just relying on pictures.

Describe an occasion when you forgot something important

One occasion when I forgot something really important happened not long ago, and it was quite embarrassing. I had scheduled a lesson with one of my students for Sunday afternoon, and I had everything planned out in my mind. However, I ended up oversleeping and didn’t wake up until a few hours later.
My student had already been waiting for me at the scheduled time, and by the time I realized I had missed the lesson, it was already three hours later. I felt so bad because not only had I let my student down, but I had also wasted their time. They were really understanding, but I could tell they were frustrated, which made me feel even worse.
The worst part was knowing that I was the one responsible for the situation. I had been so focused on other tasks that I didn’t double-check the time, and I let the time slip away. When I finally got there, I apologized profusely, but I knew that I had caused a lot of inconvenience.
Since then, I’ve made sure to set multiple alarms to prevent oversleeping and have become much more mindful of my schedule. I also make sure to send my students a quick reminder the day before the lesson, just to confirm everything. Although it was a pretty embarrassing situation, it taught me an important lesson about being more organized and punctual.

Describe an important rule at school or at work

An important rule at my university is the dress code, which requires students to wear a uniform. This rule may seem strict to some, but I think it plays an essential role in maintaining a professional atmosphere on campus.
The uniform is quite simple but elegant. It consists of a button-down shirt, and smart trousers or skirts. While it might not offer a lot of room for personal style, the idea behind the uniform is to create a sense of unity and equality among students. No matter where you come from or what your background is, everyone looks the same, which helps avoid any kind of judgment based on appearance or wealth.
This rule is especially important because it promotes discipline and respect. When everyone is dressed in a similar way, it encourages students to take their studies more seriously and focus on academic achievement rather than fashion or distractions. It also helps create a respectful learning environment where the focus is on knowledge and development, not on superficial things.
At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about the uniform, but I’ve come to appreciate it. It gives the university a very professional atmosphere, and it makes me feel like I’m part of something bigger than just myself. I also find it easier to get ready in the morning since I don’t have to worry about picking out clothes.
Overall, while the dress code might feel a little restrictive at times, I believe it’s an important rule that helps maintain order, focus, and respect within the university.

Describe an important decision that you once made

One of the most important decisions I’ve ever made was choosing my career path, especially when it came to becoming a teacher. I had always been interested in languages and communication, but for a while, I wasn’t sure whether teaching was the right fit for me. I had several options in mind, but after a lot of thought, I made the decision to pursue teaching English.
At the time, I was really torn between different career choices, and I was concerned whether I would be able to succeed as a teacher. I also worried about the challenges that come with it, like managing a classroom and delivering lessons effectively. But after talking to some experienced teachers and considering my passion for helping others, I realized teaching would give me the chance to make a real impact in people’s lives.
Making that decision wasn’t easy, but I’m so glad I followed through with it. Since I became a teacher, I’ve had the chance to work with many wonderful students and help them improve their language skills. One of the most rewarding things is seeing their confidence grow and knowing I’ve played a part in their journey.
Looking back, I’m proud of the decision I made. It’s not always easy, but being able to inspire others and make a positive difference in their lives is truly fulfilling. It also taught me that sometimes, you have to take risks and trust your instincts, even when you're unsure
.

Describe a foreign country you would like to visit in the future

If I could visit any country in the future, it would definitely be Switzerland. I’ve always been captivated by its breathtaking landscapes and serene lakes, and the idea of exploring such natural beauty excites me.
Switzerland is often described as a paradise for nature lovers, and I couldn’t agree more. The Swiss Alps are simply magnificent—I can just imagine myself hiking through the mountains, surrounded by towering peaks and lush green valleys. I’ve seen photos of the crystal-clear lakes, like Lake Geneva and Lake Lucerne, and they look like something out of a dream—so calm and peaceful. It must feel amazing to sit by one of those lakes, with the fresh mountain air and the tranquil atmosphere all around.
But it’s not just the scenery that draws me to Switzerland. The country is also famous for its rich culture and world-renowned cuisine. I’ve heard the Swiss chocolate is absolutely delicious, and I would love to try some authentic Swiss fondue. I’m also eager to explore the charming cities like Zurich and Geneva—they’re known for being clean, safe, and full of history. I imagine wandering through narrow streets, soaking in the local culture, and experiencing the high quality of life that Switzerland is famous for.
One thing I find particularly exciting is the country’s public transport system. The trains there are said to be extremely punctual, and I’ve read that some of the scenic train routes offer some of the most stunning views in the world. I can already picture myself sitting back, enjoying the ride, and taking in the breathtaking vistas of snow-capped mountains, lush forests, and crystal-clear lakes.
Overall, Switzerland feels like the perfect destination for both adventure and relaxation. Whether I’m exploring the mountains, enjoying the peaceful lakes, or wandering through the picturesque cities, I know it would be an unforgettable experience—one that I hope to have in the near future.

Describe a time you made a promise to someone

I’d like to talk about a time when I made a promise to my younger brother and had to make sure I kept it. A few months ago, he was preparing for his final exams, and he was feeling stressed and overwhelmed, especially with math. He told me he was really struggling, so I promised to help him study every evening until his exams were over.
At first, it wasn’t too difficult—I enjoyed helping him, and we made good progress. But after a few days, I got really busy with my own work and personal commitments, and I was tempted to skip a few study sessions. However, I knew that breaking my promise would let him down, so I made sure to set aside time every evening, even if I was tired. Sometimes, we studied late into the night, and I could see how much it meant to him that I was there to support him.
In the end, he did really well in his exams, and he was so happy. He even thanked me and said my help had really made a difference. That moment made me realize how important it is to keep promises, no matter how small they seem. It also reminded me that a little effort and commitment can go a long way in helping someone succeed.
Looking back, I’m really glad I stuck to my word. It strengthened my bond with my brother and showed me that sometimes, even small acts of support can make a big impact on someone’s confidence and success.

Describe a line that you remember from a song or poem

One song lyric that has stayed with me for a long time comes from the famous Soviet wartime song "Tyomnaya Noch" (Тёмная ночь), which means "Dark Night" in English. This song was originally performed by Mark Bernes in 1943 during World War II, and it became one of the most iconic songs of that era, deeply touching the hearts of many people.
The line that I remember the most is:
"Тёмная ночь, только пули свистят по степи..."
("Dark night, only bullets are whistling across the steppe...")
This lyric creates a powerful and emotional image of a soldier alone on the battlefield at night, surrounded by danger and uncertainty. Despite the fear and loneliness, the song also carries a sense of hope, as the soldier thinks about his loved ones waiting for him at home. The melody is hauntingly beautiful, and the words perfectly capture the emotions of love, separation, and faith.
I remember this line because it perfectly conveys the emotions that many soldiers must have felt during the war. It reminds me of the sacrifices people made and the importance of love and resilience even in the darkest times. Even though I was born long after the war, this song still resonates with me because of its deep meaning and historical significance.
Overall, "Tyomnaya Noch" is not just a song—it is a symbol of courage and hope, and this particular line paints a vivid picture of the hardships faced by soldiers. That’s why it has remained so unforgettable for me.

Describe an interesting building

I’d like to talk about Chorsu Hotel, one of the most unique and iconic buildings in my city. It was originally built as a luxury hotel about 30 years ago, but over time, it stopped operating and is now just a tall, empty structure with no real purpose.
What makes this building interesting is its unusual design. It has a circular shape with a pattern that looks quite futuristic, especially considering when it was built. Even though it’s no longer in use, it still stands out in the city’s skyline and is often a topic of discussion among locals. Some people think it should be renovated and reopened, while others believe it should be demolished and replaced with something more useful.
Personally, I find it fascinating because it represents a piece of history. It was once a place where travelers stayed, business meetings were held, and important events took place. Now, it’s just a forgotten landmark, but it still carries a sense of nostalgia. Whenever I pass by, I can’t help but wonder what will happen to it in the future.

Describe a plan you had to change

I’d like to talk about a time when I had to change my travel plans unexpectedly. Last summer, my friends and I planned a weekend getaway to the mountains. We had everything organized—our bags were packed, we had booked a cabin, and we were looking forward to hiking, barbecuing, and enjoying nature. However, just a day before we were supposed to leave, the weather forecast showed heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area.
At first, we were really disappointed because we had been looking forward to this trip for weeks. But after thinking it through, we realized that hiking in bad weather wasn’t a good idea. So, instead of canceling our plans entirely, we decided to find an alternative. After some quick research, we found a cozy cabin in a nearby town with a fireplace, board games, and even a small home theater. It wasn’t the adventure we had originally planned, but we thought it could still be a fun and relaxing trip.
In the end, it turned out to be a fantastic experience. We spent the weekend watching movies, playing games, cooking together, and just enjoying each other’s company. It was actually one of the best trips we’ve ever had because we got to bond in a different way. Looking back, I’m really glad we adapted instead of giving up on the trip. It reminded me that sometimes, plans don’t work out as expected, but if you stay flexible and make the best of the situation, you can still have a great time.

Describe a time when it was important to tell your friend the truth

I remember a time when I had to be completely honest with my friend, even though it wasn’t easy. It happened about a year ago when my friend Mark was preparing for an important job interview. He asked me to give him feedback on his interview skills, and I knew I had to tell him the truth, even if it might hurt his feelings.
During our practice session, I noticed that he was speaking too fast, struggling to answer questions clearly, and sometimes going off-topic. I could tell he was nervous, but if I didn’t tell him the truth, he might not have improved. So, I decided to be straightforward but also supportive.
I told him, “Hey Mark, I think you have great potential, but you need to slow down when you speak and structure your answers better.” At first, he looked a bit disappointed, but then he appreciated my honesty and asked for more advice. We practiced together for a few more days, and he really improved. In the end, he did amazingly well in the interview and got the job!
Looking back, I’m really glad I told him the truth because sometimes, real friends don’t just say what you want to hear—they say what you need to hear. If I had just told him, “You’re doing great,” he wouldn’t have fixed his mistakes. This experience taught me that being truthful is important, especially when it helps someone grow.
