The number of intl. ppl applying to through common app in 2024-25.
Can see a clear downtrend in uzbek applications. This could have several reasons, but I believe it's not proportionately higher than the previous year. That is, 2006 could have seen more births or anything of that kind.
But my point stands. There is a definitely clear uptrend in the quality of applications though—or at least that's what I think.
And the recent events easily corroborate my claim. We saw multiple admits to NYUAD today; ivies; and actually even broke barriers deemed impossible before — vandy one esp!
The school is more elitist and thus actually harder to get into than maybe some of the ivies — again my opinion.
I'm very happy for all of those ppl; that their hard work and unwavering faith paid off.
But on a zoom-out, again, this progress speaks something deeper. That we are advancing in admissions, and by extension, country-level determination, and potentially, will have a big—a very big—Central Asian representation!⚡️
