Ahh speaking.

I can understand why my Fluency and Coherence mark was bumped down to 8.

But what I’m having hard time understanding is that 7 on Lexical Resource. Also, there was no reason to not give me 9 on grammar too.

But hey, what can I say…

Finally got my score breakdown.

Task 1 score: 7.5
Task 2 score: 8.0
Overall: 8.0

Interesting.

I didn’t really pay much attention to Task 1, well, maybe to my detriment.

I clearly had stuff I could paraphrase/go over, which I realized right before I submitted my responses but didn’t change because the time was almost over.

It’s also interesting that none of my T2 criteria scores were 9.

My comment on this:

The only reason I retook IELTS is I had an ESL certificate requirement for something I was applying to. My previous certificate already expired at that point so I needed to take it again.

What’s funny is I booked only about 5 days before the test. I didn’t prepare almost at all and was ready for any score because I just needed 7+ and I was confident I would get it. So I just went in and took it without much stress or expectation.

Also, I knew if I would try to get a band 9, I would have to prepare for at least a couple of weeks. So this was not a “band 9” round because, again, I had to take it urgently.

Maybe I’ll take it again to make it 9.0. We shall see :)

P.S. If you’d like any specifics of the test, feel free to drop them in the comments. I will do my best to answer them in detail.

Not the score I was expecting, but still my highest one so far.

Took it mostly for fun.

Didn’t really prepare intensively enough.

Expected 800 on math.

But it is what it is.
