The line graph illustrates the changes in the production of three different products—namely timber, pulp, and paper—in a European country from 1980 to 2000. Overall, the production of all three products showed an upward trend, with paper experiencing the most noticeable growth and becoming the dominant product by the end of the period.
The production of timber and pulp followed a somewhat similar pattern. Starting at 6 million tonnes, timber production rose considerably, reaching a peak of around 9 million tonnes in 1985. However, it then experienced a dramatic decline to just above 6 million in 1995, before recovering to just below 8 million by the end of the period. Similarly, pulp production stood at 4 million tonnes in the initial year and witnessed significant growth, reaching 6 million in 2000, despite some slight fluctuations.
Likewise, paper production also increased, albeit steadily, without fluctuations. Its initial production of around 3 million tonnes grew dramatically to approximately 9 million tonnes in 1995, followed by a moderate rise to 10 million tonnes by the final year, surpassing timber and pulp production to become the leading product.
