I know some former students of mine who have been stuck at a band score of 6.5–7.0 or 7.0–7.5 for 2–3 years. I know exactly why they cannot progress further—it’s simply because they think they know enough. They have no idea that they need more exposure to English through articles, podcasts, books, TV series, and regular practice. Instead, they keep doing practice tests, lying to themselves and convincing themselves that they are studying hard.

There is no cure for ignorant students. I hope they realize this before it’s too late because 2–3 years is a very long time.
