Some people say that now is the best time in history to be living.

What is your opinion about this? What other time in history would be interesting to live in?

It is undeniable that we have a rich history to take pride in. However, our era is considered to be the best period to live according to some. While I am in favor of this notion for we have many privileges that were not granted to people in the past, the period post World War II would be an intriguing one to experience.

It has been suggested that today's generation is more entitled than ever before. In other words, in the past, not only was it significantly less convenient to lead one's life, but also people's access to decent things and their rights was limited. Now, there are many privileges we should not take for granted, such as freedom of speech, democracy, gender equality, freedom to practise one's religion and top-notch healthcare facilities and much better educational opportunities to name, but a few, which ought to be more than enough to claim we are indeed living in the best era ever, as lessons from our history tell us people who came before us, literally died fighting for what we enjoy today.

On the flip side, many others have claimed that the life after the second World War would be worth exploring. It is common knowledge that the war, that lasted around half a decade from 1941 to 1945, took its toll on virtually every nation globally, which is why some could find it interesting to see what steps countries took to rebuild their economy and infrastructure, coupled with how individuals recovered from losing their loved ones during the War. Understanding how mentally tough the people of that time were would definitely spark interest in those who are invested in history because then they could see how people can keep dreaming and fighting for a more prosperous life even after all those hurdles they had to go through.

It is said that there has never been a time better than now to be living in. I tend to agree with this statement due to the perks we have today, but our ancestors did not, whereas another interesting era to witness would be after the Second World War came to an end.
