Why do some investments grow and make their owners wealthy, while others only increase expenses?

According to the study, the wealth of the top 1% of the richest U.S. families consists of 61% stocks, meaning the majority of their portfolio is made up of the riskiest financial market asset. This supports the idea that the wealthy people take risks.

Often, the property owned by low-income individuals—a house or an apartment—is purchased on credit, meaning it is not even an investment asset. Robert Kiyosaki, in his book Rich Dad, Poor Dad, observed that poor people acquire assets that only generate expenses. Real estate, in this case, bought on credit locks up your capital, which could have been generating income.

Calculus II

I had an interesting discussion with my professor about the differences between salary systems in Uzbekistan and the USA.

In Uzbekistan, salaries are paid monthly with taxes automatically deducted, so most people don’t actively notice how much of their earnings go to the government. In contrast, in the U.S., employees receive their full salary and are responsible for paying taxes themselves once a year. This makes them more aware of how much they’re contributing and, in turn, more likely to demand accountability in government spending.

Low IELTS Score and No Time to Retake? Here Are Free Alternative Solutions for University Admissions

If you have a low IELTS score—or haven’t taken it but are confident in your English skills—don’t worry! Many universities offer alternative ways to meet English proficiency requirements without retaking the test. Here are three free options:

1. Duolingo English Test (DET) – Many universities accept DET as an alternative to IELTS and even offer fee waivers. It’s easier, results are available within 48 hours, and scores will be sent to the university for free.

2. High SAT EBRW Score – If you’ve scored 600–700+ on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) section of the SAT, most universities will waive the English proficiency test requirement.

3. Conditional Candidate Review – Some universities, like Davidson College, may review your application without an English proficiency test. If you’re an outstanding applicant in other areas, they might even offer a fee waiver for an alternative test.

These options can save you time and money while keeping your admission plans on track. Do your research, reach out to universities, and take advantage of these alternatives!

Trade War Begins!

Trump has announced new tariffs (extra taxes) on imports: 25% on Canadian and Mexican goods, 10% on Canadian energy products, and 10% on Chinese goods.

In response, Canada is imposing matching tariffs on $106.5 billion worth of U.S. imports, while Mexico and China are also hitting back with retaliatory measures. China argues that these tariffs violate global trade rules, but Trump insists that the economic pain is necessary.

What are the causes for us - population?

-Higher prices of goods
-Job losses in import and export sectors
-Volatility and recession in the financial markets
-Potential global conflicts

“There is no discharge in the war”

Meaning: battles - whether physical, moral, or existential - must be faced, and there is no easy way out.

Imagine you’re playing Monopoly, but you never buy any properties. You just keep moving around the board, collecting your salary every time you pass “Go.” Meanwhile, others invest, build, and charge you rent. You pay your way through the game, avoiding jail but never really getting ahead.

Sounds familiar? That’s how many people go through life.

Have you ever wondered why it is so hard to write essays in college applications?

How to start? What to write? How to write? What to include? There are tons of questions that have no answer.

Do you know why ?

I'll tell you why - because we do not do anything on our own. We study what “the system” wants us to study. We do extracurricular activities, such as taking part in ceremonies, performing dances on holiday events, or even taking care of our farm at our home, just because we are told to do so. For this reason, we can not show personal value, which simply doesn't exist, in everything we do. However, college admissions want exactly the opposite: do something that you are passionate about and describe it and how it holds personal values.

We fill up the activities list with a bunch of shit that we don't care about and did just for the "tick". I guess, in that way, we are not going to earn spots that we are competing for with other guys with real passion

Getting accepted to top colleges doesn't guarantee your success. Not being accepted to privileged universities, not even getting a degree or not being a genius doesn't guarantee your life failure

There is no universal key to success

People always seek shortcuts to success to achieve it as soon as possible or earlier than others, thinking that it makes them happy and satisfied with their lives. However, the path to success itself is a happiness that we all are looking for and beyond the finish line is just an empty, meaningless space.

We all are ready to reach the finish line at any cost, but what if we get more than enough at the end and the cost is far more than how much should be sacrificed…

We always enjoy the food when it doesn't make us full
