Today many teenagers rely greatly on technology when learning.
Is this a positive or negative development?Nowadays, due to significant changes in modern technologies communication and learning through portable gadgets are possible. Many teenagers are using up-to-date devices such as laptops and mobile phones during their learning period. While, this trend has many advantages like having access to wider academic resources and without extra expenses, it has drawbacks that could have detrimental effect individuals' health and communication traits.
As technologies are making our life easier, they also offer several conveniences for students. Firstly, the Internet helps learners to find the most crucial and suitable resources. Those materials often include engaging and interactive activities that make the learning process more easy and attractive. For instance, watching interesting documentaries and tutorials in foreign language is a more effective method to learn a new language. Moreover, if the children start to acquire knowledge with the help of advanced gadgets, they do not have to pay for transport, food, and other extra expenses. They can stay in their comfort zone without spending time to reach the education centre. It helps them to save their valuable time and money. Additionally, that is mostly appropriate for tight-budget families.
However, over dependency on technology leads to health problems in the study period. While, students are covering a particular topic that takes for a prolonged period that inactiveness in turn, could effect harmfully to the students' physical and mental state. Sedentary lifestyle would make individuals lazy as they prefer to do everything from their sitting place. Furthermore, as a result of less face-to-face interactions with others could cause in developing hostile behaviours to the teenagers. They might find it difficult to get along with new friends and they would be less capable of finding a solution for problems because of their communication weakness.
In conclusion, although advanced technologies have profound advantages - access free and valuable Internet facilities - in the learning process, they have negative impacts on the teenagers overall well-being and social behaviours.
