🤯 You neglect this the most but this might become the main reason of your rejections from TOP universities.

Having solid extracurriculars and honors is nearly a must have when you apply to Ivy-league or TOP universities in the world.

If you only have good academic stats, but no portfolio, you are possibly set to miserably fail.

A lot of students postpone to start their passion projects, apply to programs, reach out to professionals seeking research/internship positions. However, when the deadlines are coming up, they realize that it is already too late.

If you are a 10th grader or taking your first/second gap year and planning to apply to colleges in the U.S. this fall, you are right now at the perfect time to transform your portfolio.

I have successfully started and managed many massive projects, conducted an academic research, landed internships at governmental and non-governmental agencies, and I believe that my portfolio was one of the biggest reasons for my acceptance to Harvard class of 2029 in early action.

🎯 Importance of setting goals

I know that you are applying to colleges or doing something along those lines. Today, I want to write about the importance of setting goals.

I have seen many of my peers fail at standardized tests, projects or other parts of the application process because they don't have a clear picture of what they are doing.

My typical conversation with them:
- What are you doing nowadays?
- I am preparing for SAT
- When will you take it ?
- I don't know. Maybe when I am ready?

To have a clear picture of your progress, you need to know where you are going.

Imagine you ride on a bus, and you don't know where you should leave the bus. You will probably end up somewhere you don't want to be.

The same thing goes with everything you do.

If you are preparing for SAT, know when are you taking it. If you are starting a club, know when you will engage your first 100 members. If you are applying for an international program, know when you are submitting your application (not 1 minute before the deadline)

I started setting goals at 8th grade, and it has been a game changer.
