In recent years, it has become increasingly common for people to work longer hours. While this situation can be attributed to recent developments. While this situation can be attributed to intense competition in the job market and economic worries, I believe that it causes serious consequences for individuals.
The increase in work hours stems from recent developments and financial challenges. With the successful integration of artificial intelligence and automation into industrial processes, combined with mass immigration and rapid population growth, job displacement has reached epidemic proportions, intensifying competition in the international job market. Given these circumstances, it comes as no surprise that employees work longer to maintain their competitive edge and survive in the increasingly precarious landscape of the global workforce. From a financial standpoint, rising living expenses, fuelled by high inflation and tax rates, have created an environment where people, especially those from low-income families, struggle to meet their basic necessities like food, clothing, and utilities, let alone enjoy a comfortable quality of life and save for future emergencies. In response to this heavy financial burden, individuals feel obligated to seek multiple sources of income and work overtime to navigate the complexities of a high-cost-of-living economy.
