Some people say newspapers are the best source of news but others say that the internet is better.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
The choice of the best source of news has long been the topic of debates, with some arguing that newspapers are the best source of news while others think that the internet is better. I agree with the latter opinion.
There are numerous reasons why newspapers are pivotal, one of which is its reliability. That is to say, unlike the internet which has millions of unauthorized information or fake news, newspapers provide reliable news, making them trustworthy among people. What’s more, they are checked more times before publishing, ensuring that readers should not hesitate about the news they read. Moreover, while reading news on newspapers, people can get the overall meaning of the news as they will not interrupted by disruptions, including but not limited to notifications coming from others or messages. Personally, when I use the internet to know about what is going on in the world, I will not be able to get the ideas since notifications come over and over again.
These arguments notwithstanding, I still believe that the internet is the best source of the news. First and foremost, it is readily available. In other words, the news can be informed everywhere, whether in streets, in transports or even at schools. These benefits allow the internet to be used by all ages, unlike newspapers which are mainly used by older individuals. Furthermore, it is the fastest way to exchange information as they can be published within seconds compared to its counterpart which takes time to be appeared in individuals’ hands. For instance, without any doubt, in every second, the news appeared on the internet platforms when the COVID-19 began.
In conclusion, although newspapers provide the reliable news, the internet, due to its portability, is commonly used by all ages of people.
