I only know this meaning but others are so good.




I have never seen this words meaning until now so it is so profound. Subhanallah. Look at the first meaning.






Noman Ali Khan is an Islamic scholar. I appreciate his lectures and lessons I usually listen to them when I have free time. What I want to say is he is very good at his field. And, also, I have been learning a lot about Islam and life, which causes the change in my life. I ask Allah to bless him with wisdom, the knowledge of the Quran, and trust in Islam. I ask Allah, I want to be like him. Whatever I should to be like him I will do them. Hey, Guys, I highly recommend his lectures and his lessons. Listen carefully and allow yourself to look at your reality. Understand what you should do in the world and find your way.

Here are example sentences for each word in the table:


Wonder

Noun: The Grand Canyon is a natural wonder.

Adjective: She gave a wonderful performance at the concert.

Verb: I wonder what the weather will be like tomorrow.

Adverb: The meal was wonderfully cooked.

Word formation


Exercise 5: Complete the sentences with two- or three-part phrasal verbs from exercise 4.

1. We sent her a present to make up for the disappointment of missing the music festival.


2. I like football, but I don’t go in for extreme sports.


3. We looked up his name on the internet to check his story was true.


4. You said you would take us on holiday this summer – you can’t go back on your promise!


5. Did you get up to anything exciting while your parents were away?


6. Did you make up that story, or is it true?



Exercise 6: Use three-part phrasal verbs from exercises 2 or 4 to replace the underlined words.

1. Which famous people do you look up to? (admire)


2. Which sports or games do you go in for? (enjoy)


3. What did you get up to last weekend? (do)


4. What kind of behaviour is the most difficult to put up with? (tolerate)


5. What kind of people do you find it easiest to get on with? (be friendly with)


Phrasal verbs:

1. Gets on with - to have a (good/bad) relationship with.


2. Walks out on - to abandon or leave.


3. Go through with - to complete something.


4. Lives up to - to match or equal.


5. Run out of - to use all of your supply of something.


6. Signs up for - to agree to do something (e.g., work).


7. Catches up with - to succeed in finding or reaching somebody.


8. Fits in with - to look and act like part of a group.


9. Put up with - to tolerate or be patient about something.
