Vocabulary

⚫️ breastfeeding - feeding a baby directly with milk from the mother’s breasts

⚫️ postpartum - after giving birth; following childbirth

⚫️ gosh! - exclamation used to express a feeling of surprise or wonder

⚫️ in a daze - feeling confused and unable to think clearly, often because of a shock or surprise

⚫️ hands-on - closely involved in organizing things and making decisions, rather than just talking about it or getting someone else to do it

⚫️ fall apart - become seriously emotionally disturbed so that you are unable to think calmly or to deal with the difficult situation you are in

Over half the world’s population eats rice and there's growing demand for it, so is it possible to grow rice in a more eco-friendly way? Beth and Neil discuss this and teach you some new vocabulary.

Vocabulary

⚫️ sugar rush - suddenly feeling excited or full of energy after eating food containing a lot of sugar

⚫️ balanced diet - a diet combining the proper types and amounts of food needed to stay healthy

⚫️ go low - have very little of a particular thing

⚫️ sharp - intelligent and quick to notice and react to things

⚫️ batch cook - cook a lot of food at one time, then save some to eat at later meals

⚫️ (20 second/minutes) flat - used to mean a certain amount of time exactly, and to emphasise that something is done very quickly
