Traveling alone has several advantages, the most notable being complete independence. Solo travelers have the freedom to plan their itinerary according to their preferences, without having to compromise with others. It also fosters self reliance and confidence, as individuals must navigate unfamiliar places, make decisions, and solve problems on their own. When I come to say about downsides, loneliness can be a significant challenge, especially for those who enjoy companionship. Safety is another concern, as solo travelers might be more vulnerable to scams or unforeseen difficulties.

While travelling abroad offers several tangible benefits, such as exposure to new cultures, broadening one's overall perspective, and developing independence, it may not ALWAYS be a good idea for everyone or in every situation. For instance, some destinations may have safety risks due to political instability, health concerns, or natural disasters. Lets take Thailand as a pertinent example. In recent years it has become increasingly common for people to travel to this country because of its exquisite nature coupled with affordable prices for both food and accommodation. Having said that though according to official Thai publishing websites, terrorists are more prone to carry out attacks in Thailand. This can be obvious from recent statistics, highlighting this nation's safety index which was 7.7 in 2024, a decline from 8.0 in 2023. In my opinion, this downward trend can be attributed to these potential risks.
