The pie chart shows where dance classes are held in an Australian town, whereas the bar chart compares what dance classes two age groups are attending there.
Overall, most of the dancing sessions are conducted in either private studios or educational establishments, with a few being located in community halls or other places. While there are more attendees under 11 in Ballet and Tap dance clubs, Modern dance club is more popular among those between 11 and 16.
Private dance studios account for 48 percent of venues for dance classes in an Australian town. Twice as few classes as this are held at school halls during non-academic hours, with 24 percent. Community halls and other places are the third most common place – location for slightly under a fifth of dance classes in the town. Being the least likely venue for dancing sessions, studios located within colleges house a tenth of dance classes.
The two age groups exhibit different preferences in their choice of dance clubs, with Tap dance consisting of similar number of both children and teenagers. Ballet, for instance, is more dominantly attended by under 11 age bracket, outnumbering teenagers by twice, with respective figures of 600 and 300. In contrast, Modern dance is attended by over 500 teenagers – the figure that is significantly higher than that of children’s.
