Petrifying. Nostalgic. Awe-inspiring.
A Space Odyssey was released back in 1968 yet did an astonishingly good job at depicting some of the technological developments that have happened only after the movie production.
HAL 9000, the brain of the Discovery One, is almost frighteningly accurate to the closest we have come to AGI today. The flat screens the team used to see the news from is quite, if not precisely, similar to tablets that came into existence only after 1989. And these are only a few examples of the movie's predictions.
By the way, the sticky boots used by the stewardesses seem like a great alternative to antigravity, which was also there. And yeah humans have already tried it.
