I have always been struck by how much some people can complain about coming a environment, lament how new people are worse than their neighbors or friends in their hometown, how hard it is for them to be where they are.
What gives them the most discomfort is the uncertainty that comes with coming to a new place. Not knowing what to do, where to go, how to act, understandably enough, makes people panic.
However, many don't realize that everything outside their control is irrational to worry about. They cannot focus on things they can control, including the fundamental knowledge of human nature - recognition of the fact that every human being has similar emotions, reactions, and mental construct regardless of where they are from - and including the power they have over their own reactions - their only aspect that they can control irrespective of the situation.
Most of this fear and emotions these days stem largely from the influence of social media. The cascade of emotionally-charged content takes its toll on people's mental state, making them tangibly unstable. If you look into it though, most of what social media displays as important and right are quite if not completely contrary to your set of values. While you know that material pursuits are actually of no actual worth, short videos adorned with hyper-edited animations and color-grading and pumped with a gripping background music make you steadily forget your principles.
This can change, and a plausible solution would be to first discern what's within and without your power. Next, understand what is helping or hampering you from getting where you want. As long as you act rationally and be honest with yourself, you will completely change how you live today.
