According to "The Portland Press Herald"
Early decision admissions for college unfairly favor wealthy applicants.
To those who don't know what is early decision pool.
U.S colleges have different admissions time.
*Early admissions - starts typically from September and closes on the beginning of November.-It gives decent chance of getting scholarships, increased chance of full scholarship
*Early decision - the application time is almost the same with early admissions. But, it is a binding program, meaning if you get accepted to a university, you must study there.Pros - it gives a student privilege as a symbol of commitment to the university, letting the university know that they chose the university and are willing to study there.
Both in early admissions and decision, students receive the decision letter by the mid December on average.
*Regular Decision - Last chance to apply to most universities.
Admissions are open from November to The New Year. _______As I was saying, most universities, even Ivy leagues tend to support and accept the legacy families, rich people and the families who donates to the unis whom are white.
While some may think this is a stereotype as a lot of universities taking holistic approach, this is staying as fact for more than 200 universities in the U.S
