TΓΌrkiye to Host the World Kurash Championship
πΉπ·The development of Kurash in TΓΌrkiye is entering a new phase. This week in TΓΌrkiye has been full of Kurash related events, a national seminar for Kurash coaches and referees, competition, qualification of refereees and coaches, and most important a meeting to discuss the preparatory steps to host the IKAβs main event of the year - Senior World Kurash Championships, Congress and DC meeting in Sakarya TΓΌrkiye.
βοΈThe weeklong events have been organized by the International Kurash Association (IKA), the International Kurash Institute, and the Turkish Kurash Federation.
π°IKA General Secretary Mohammad Reza Nassiri, IKA Head of Administration Mansur Mirzaev, International Kurash Institute expert Olim Ravshanov, TΓΌrkiye Kurash Federation members and over 50 Kurash referees and coaches were among the active participants.
During the event, training sessions are conducted for referees and coaches, providing them with insights into International standards and rules.
πInitial discussions were held regarding the hosting of the World Senior Kurash Championship in Sakarya TΓΌrkiye . IKA representatives provided the Turkish side with information about the requirements and criteria for hosting the championship.
TΓΌrkiye is considered a strong candidate to host the championship thanks to its sports infrastructure, experience in organizing International competitions, and geographical location. According to Furkan Goltas, President of the Turkish Kurash Federation, interest in Kurash is growing in TΓΌrkiye, and hosting this championship would further contribute to the sportβs popularity.
β»οΈAt the end of the seminar, participants had the opportunity to test their knowledge in practice. The performances of the seminar participants who refereed at the national championship competitions were evaluated by experts. The participants who showed the highest results were awarded 1-star referee certificates and coaching licenses from the International Kurash Association.
