To improve your reading comprehension, you must take up reading books AND articles daily.
One good article from sources like The Economist, The Guardian, National Geographic or the like every day is good for understanding complex language.
Reading 20-40 pages of non-fiction books a day is a must for IELTS candidates who are trying to improve their reading scores. Atomic Habits, Mindset, and The Psychology of Money are some decent ones for starters.
Note that if your general English skills are below intermediate level, then you had better go for other easier reads, such as level-based novels.
