Finally the reflection post I promised to send.🫡
Notable things I did in the beginning of 2024 were placing 6th in the Ninja IT contest’s final round and qualifying for the final round of IOI team selection. These were my first experiences of participating in a national-level contest on-site and seeing competitive programmers all over the country. Then as I needed to get an IELTS certificate I applied and got 7(huh). It wasn’t a bad score noting I had spent most of my time preparing and participating in Olympiads and it is the score I just needed after all.✅
Final round of the IOI team selection test was not successful for me, but around 2 weeks of camp before that allowed me to hone my skills and be friends with other competitive programmers improving my networking. During that time I participated
this and think it was a good one for me and all the other guys who qualified for Top 12 nationally.
“Renessans” camp gave me a great experience. Especially, as it was when school had just finished I could easily take off my academic pressure. This camp was where TechAvengers started. Better
reflection of this camp is written already.
During the last month of summer break I prepared for the SAT exam and got a score of 1390. I guess spending only one month for SAT and then not retaking was a mistake. I had to choose either preparing for a high score or not taking the test at all.
Participating in the NASA Space Apps Challenge allowed us to travel to Tashkent and have a good time. Unfortunately, because of judges who were unconcerned with participants and their projects we couldn’t do well(Maybe deadline was a problem and they could not look at every project, who knows).
And then being involved in presidential elections was a stupid mistake in my opinion. Because, no one cared about real projects after all and even if I won I wouldn’t get any benefit(what I was thinking). Not gonna write a long story about this :)
Then, I started to fill my admission(still doing) and won regional olympiad once more(3x), but couldn’t do well on 1st selection round for IOI(at least passed)
November and December felt like a dilemma and really long(idk why).
In 2024, I made some decisions that now I think was wrong. But to know they were wrong I needed this experience(maybe after some time I rethink they were right, who knows).
