The provided bar graph compares the proportion of families that went through a divorce in Finland and Sweden from 2011 to 2015.
Overall, what stands out is that while the number of divorces in Finland witnessed an increase throughout the given period, the reverse could be said about Sweden. Of particular note is that, with the exception of 2015, the divorce rates were always higher in Sweden.
Looking at the statistics in Finland first, the divorce rate stood at 37% in 2011, after which it decreased minimally to approximately 32% in 2012 before recovering and peaking at 41% by 2014. However, that figure stayed stable until the last year.
Turning to Sweden, there was a 6% rise from 43% in 2011 to its highest 49% in 2012. By contrast, from 2012 onwards, divorces declined in numbers as it first dipped gradually to 45% in 2024 and plummeted to it's lowest(37%).
