ABDUKODIR KHUSANOV - LIVING THE DREAM 🥇

I hadn't made any posts about Khusanov's recent rise to popularity because I was trying to gather the best ideas and words in my mind. I knew this would be a long post, so I hope you guys are ready.

The moment I saw the first news linking Khusanov with a move to Manchester City, I thought: Yeah, this guy is living the dream. Whose dream, you ask? Well, mine and yours. Let's admit it. What's usually the most desirable profession for an Uzbek boy growing up? It's being a football player. And guess what? Many of us will die with this dream.

I know for a fact that my biggest regret in life will be stopping my football training at 15 years of age. Sure, I didn't have enough investment to continue, but something tells me I gave up too early. These are the thoughts Khusanov won't have because he didn't give up, and he is now one of the best young defenders in the world. I am truly happy for him, but the biggest test of his life is yet to come.

When he joins a new club, the media will be after him, as any mistake could spark major controversies, especially when dealing with the English media. Khusanov appears to be a very calm and modest person, which should definitely help. We all know what happens when young football players let the media get to their heads. Don't believe the hype, and don't live in an echo chamber—that's the rule. We all hope Khusanov blocks out the unnecessary noise and continues focusing on his game, which has been a joy to watch so far.

One thing that excites me the most is his choice of position. Unlike many boys who grow up dreaming of becoming a footballer, Khusanov chose defending as his job. When he joins Manchester City, for example, he will become the first Uzbek player in the best league in the world—and he's a defender, not a striker. Isn't that interesting? It shows how important it is to be self-aware and choose what works for you. Scoring goals is definitely fun, but as they say, defense wins championships, and many major clubs seem to be in desperate need of elite defenders right now.

We will all monitor Khusanov's progress during this part of his career. Many of us will be thrilled to watch his performances, thinking: Yes, that is my childhood dream in reality. Hopefully, this guy wins. And when he wins, our inner child will win as well.

Khusanov is a reminder that dreams come true, and we hope he amazes us with great performances.

Written from the depths of my soul.

Describe a city you have visited and liked.
You should say:

what city it is, and where it is
when you have visited this city
why you liked/disliked it
and explain what influences the city has had on you.

One city I have visited and absolutely loved is Samarkand, located in Uzbekistan. It's a historic gem in Central Asia and a place that feels like stepping back in time, yet still has a lively, modern charm.

I visited Samarkand last spring during a two-week trip exploring Uzbekistan. It was my first time there, and I was immediately captivated by its beauty and cultural richness. The weather was perfect—mild and sunny, which made wandering around the city even more enjoyable.

What I loved most about Samarkand is its unique blend of ancient history and vibrant modern life. The Registan Square, with its stunning mosaics and majestic madrasahs, is probably one of the most awe-inspiring sights I’ve ever seen. Walking through the square, I felt like I was part of a centuries-old story. Another highlight was the Shah-i-Zinda complex, where the intricate tilework on the mausoleums left me speechless. I also really enjoyed tasting the local cuisine—Samarkand’s plov, paired with freshly baked bread, was simply unforgettable.

What’s truly fascinating about Samarkand is how the past and present coexist so seamlessly. You can feel the influence of the Silk Road in the markets, where vendors sell spices, textiles, and handicrafts that seem to echo centuries of trade and cultural exchange. At the same time, the city has modern cafes and restaurants where young people gather, giving it a fresh, energetic vibe.

Visiting Samarkand had a profound influence on me. It reminded me of the importance of preserving history while embracing progress. It also sparked a deeper appreciation for architecture and craftsmanship. After returning home, I found myself looking into the history of the Silk Road and even started reading about other cities along its route.

Overall, Samarkand left a lasting impression on me—not just for its beauty but also for its ability to inspire a sense of connection to a broader world history. It’s a place I’d visit again in a heartbeat.
