Describe an area of science that interests you
Astronomy has always been a science that captivates me. Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the mysteries of the universe. I still have vivid memories of summer nights at my grandparents’ village, where we would sleep outdoors. My cousins and I would lie on our backs, gazing up at the vast, star-filled sky, trying to count the countless twinkling stars. That magical experience sparked my curiosity about space and everything beyond our planet.
At one point, I attempted to study astronomy seriously, but to be honest, I found it too mentally draining. The complex equations, astronomical measurements, and in-depth physics were overwhelming. So, instead of diving deep into the technical side, I decided to gain a fundamental understanding of the subject. I focused on learning the basics—how stars are born and die, the fascinating features of planets, and most importantly, how to operate a telescope to observe celestial objects. This way, I could still nurture my passion without feeling frustrated.
What makes astronomy so intriguing is that it helps us comprehend our place in the vast cosmos. The idea that there are billions of galaxies, each containing trillions of stars and planets, is simply mind-blowing! Plus, I have a little dream—I’m on a personal quest to search for extraterrestrial life! Of course, I know it sounds far-fetched, but scanning the night sky through a telescope and imagining the possibilities is thrilling. Who knows? Maybe one day, humanity will discover intelligent life beyond Earth!
