Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur (1483–1530) was a poet, military leader, and the founder of the Mughal Empire. He wrote in Chagatai Turkic and Persian, with his poetry reflecting themes of love, nature, and personal struggles.

Do‘stlar, mendin agar hol so‘rsangiz,
Holim bu ki, men beqaror o‘turdim.
Gar mendin so‘rasang ne holatdasan,
Bir holatdamen, beqaror o‘turdim.

Ishq ichra ko‘nglumni obod qildim,
Nechukkim, vayroni obod bo‘lgay.
Ko‘zumdin chiqqon yosh selin tutolmam,
Ki, daryolar toshsa, bandi ne qilsin?

This is a translated version of one of his poems, but he wrote many in his Diwan (collection of poetry), covering themes like love, fate, and longing. His most famous work is the Baburnama, an autobiographical account filled with poetic expressions.
