Ok, so they said, 'Computers won’t take jobs.' Yet, walk into any supermarket today, and you’ll see where jobs have shifted. But have all the cashiers disappeared? No. Their roles have changed.

People talk endlessly about jobs being lost, but no one seems to discuss how roles evolve. Back in my day, I was an office junior, battling the Xerox machine and braving the scariest place on Earth—the typing pool. Am I upset those roles are gone? Not at all. It’s called progress.

Now, the so-called 'code monkeys' of today are facing their turn. They’ll have to evolve into something new. And the good news? This is how humanity grows—by adapting, learning, and advancing.

Progress isn’t about clinging to what was; it’s about embracing what could be. Let’s focus less on what’s disappearing and more on what we’re building together.

Of course, there are always calls to stop progress, to legislate against automation replacing jobs. But when did we last hear this? Was it during the Industrial Revolution, when workers smashed threshing machines in protest?

The Luddites thought they were saving their livelihoods, but what they were really doing was resisting change.
Change is inevitable. The question is, do we fear it—or do we shape it?
